The Invisible Shareholder - Family Systems

This week, we pause to reflect deeper on what family systems truly are. And how they relate to you as a person, to you as an entrepreneur, and to your soul.

Family is what you observe physically here on earth. But your family system is something completely different. It is an energetic field that, across generations, integrates all the energies of its various members: all their traumas, all their values, all their cultures.

The more recently family members have passed away—or if they are still alive—the more impact they have on who you are today. They influence your mood, your feelings, your drive. They are strongly formative.

"DNA determines your character traits. Family systems determine your beliefs."

Unlike DNA, which you only partially pass on, family systems always work. They are, by definition, continued into your descendants.

Context Determines Content

Why is this so important for you to understand as an entrepreneur? Because this system—often beneath or behind the scenes—largely determines how you stand in your business.

Many entrepreneurs have no awareness that a family system creates an energetic context around them, with a specific frequency and vibration. When you are unconscious of that vibration, you may allow family traumas or deep ancestral grief to seep into the energy of your company. As a result, you might see momentum that was just picking up speed suddenly, inexplicably, grind to a halt.

"Employees, products, and strategies are merely content. As a leader, your responsibility is to take ownership of the energetic context."

The Founder’s Shadow

In family businesses, this effect is even more pronounced. The energy of the founder lingers, for better and for worse.

The good might be authentic values, respect, and friendliness that endure for generations. But the shadow side—distrust, a need for control, difficulty delegating—can just as easily creep into the "scenery" as a palpable energy.

It may be that you, as the third generation, find yourself inexplicably stubborn or unable to let go—not because that is who you are, but because the founder's shadow is still casting its light upon the company.

"You are not a victim of your history, but you are a shareholder of its energy. The question is: how do you manage that inheritance?"

The more you understand this, the more responsibility you can take. You are not a victim of your family system. These are energetic systems, and they evolve. You can choose: What do I want to carry forward and strengthen? And what do I wish to leave behind here?

The Soul Family System: A Different Order

Alongside the physical family system, which is close to earthly reality and safety, there is the family system of your soul. This is subtler, higher in frequency.

Soul families travel together on an infinite journey of lifetimes. They enter into commitments not for safety or social cohesion, but for growth. Perhaps you have had the feeling that someone appeared on your path out of nowhere, inexplicably, and changed your life. That typical sense of immediate recognition is often a symbol of someone from your soul family.

They come to show you something. They challenge you.

"Your physical family teaches you how to flow with the stream. Your soul family teaches you how to grow against the current."

A Sequence of Moments for Growth

Your soul family also influences your manifesting ability as an entrepreneur. The commitments you have made determine the degree to which abundance and networks fall to your share. What you didn’t learn in a previous life returns to the agenda.

Your soul journey is a continuous sequence of lessons. And that is not a competition. But when you shift your perspective—when you see that setbacks and rejections are often connected to lessons your soul wishes to learn—you stop avoiding them and start embracing them.

As an entrepreneur, your task is not only to lead your company but to manage the energy of your system. To discern what belongs to you, what belongs to your family, and what belongs to your soul.

Once you see that distinction, you are free.
